I've applied to do History at Exeter. I'm a mature student. The Programme Specification (http://www.huss.ex.ac.uk/history/undergrad/progspec.php?psp_prgc=UFA3HPSHPS11), under the heading Admission Criteria, clearly states "Mature applicants are interviewed". However, i've been rejected without interview. Also, their Head of History Andrew Thorpe told me the very same at an Open Day. Therefore I wrote my personal statement "knowing" it only neeed to be an interesting & colourful prelude to an interview performance. My efforts to get through to the Admissions department there are fobbed off. My History & Philosophy tutors have also been ignored in their efforts to correct the situation.
Where do I stand? Should I take legal advice possibly? Any advice would be splendid.
