Interview advice
#21
The questions asked at my Paramedic Science interview today:

1] How's your driving going? Have you booked your test? Done the theory?

2] Do you have a criminal record?

3] Why do you want to become a paramedic by coming to university instead of doing it via the other route?

4] How would you make sure you get your assignments in on time?

5] Say you witness a really traumatic event and afterwards all you could think of was that event. As much as you tried you couldn't help but think about it. How would you overcome this? **STUUUUCK!**

6] What values would you have in order for you to be a paramedic?

7] What's an ECP?

8] How is the role of paramedics changing?

9] What would your best friend say are your good/bad points for becoming a paramedic?

10] What are the questions you would like to ask us?

Unfortunately i didn't get a place. The competition must have been pretty imense.

I just waffled for most of the things they asked about myself.
What is a ECP? Emergency Care Practitioner - they are one role up from a paramedic. They tend to people in their own homes and can give out drugs which paramedics are not qualified to do.

How is a paramedics role changing? Basically, they are having to tend to more non-emergency things and if possible, not take patients to hospital. They are also beggining to become trained to do more advanced things.

Why i would make a good paramedic? I just said the usual.. i'm a hard worker, trustworthy, caring... etc.
Bad paramedic? I was stumped, i just came out with i get bored easily - don't think that went down too well.

I had interview last year for admission. Here are my advices for interview.
1. Plan ahead : Do a little homework! Research the institute or company and the position if possible, as well, the people you will meet with at the interview. Review your work experiences.
2. Eye contact : Maintain eye contact with your interviewer. Show you want the job with your interest. Remember, more than 95% of all communication is non-verbal.
3. Be positive : In particular, avoid negative comments about past employers. When asked about your weaknesses, present them in an action-oriented manner.
4. Relate : Try to relate your answers to the interviewer and his or her institute or company.

Most important thing is tell them about your education i.e. graduation/post-graduation.
If you are a fresher then tell them the grades you got. If you have done something different than others then tell them. It surely adds a value.

Well, In job interview most essential factor is clothing. If you are not dressed professionals who work there, probably not assume that because they see the sign that you are not seriously take a position, which in turn communicates with contempt. Always wear professional clothes.

I like learning new things. But human nature, that there will come a time when the brain can not be much information when you were young. Also, you lose your memory, the threshold of old age, that's why I said information decreases. However, old age, comes experience, and when my brain capacity can not absorb new things, I be very happy to share my experience and youth to write a book.

Yes, I like learning new things. However, in human nature, there will come a time in your brain can not absorb as much knowledge, when you are young. In addition, you will lose some memory of the old era, which is why I said that knowledge will be reduced.

You should feel comfortable and safe. Be on time for the interview. Per hour in five minutes before ten minutes. During the interview try to relax and calm as possible. Take time to regroup before Maintain eye contact with the researcher on foot. Now you have the interview, the next step is to know what to wear for the interview.
