Well hopefully you can rise above the competition by excelling on your A-level examinations, thus once proved your academic ability next comes the practical stage by obtaining valuable experience you can, when i was doing my A-levels i was doing alot of helping at the citizens advice bureu and obtained two mini-pupilages in which both barristers wrote remarkbly intresting things about me on their references which was one of the main reasons why Cambridge took me on, (the dean of admissions told me after i started) so its postive to do the three stages (academic, vocational and practical ) academic = Alevels, Vocational = CAB and pracitical = Mini-pupilage's.
Most likely the arguement is make yourself look irresistable, never had the fancy private schools with outstanding gcse results mind you i got (1A,2B's,6C's and one G) but at Alevel got AAAA so anyone can do it with hard work and perservience. Good Luck Flexxx

wow well done for getting to Cambridge for Law. I am in a similar problem as well as I didn't do as well in my GCSES, so therefore I couldn't do a-levels etc, so I am now I am 20 year old who is doing an access to humanites course and Open Unoversity course at the same time. But then the only thing is that I have no work experience in Law.

I am currently residing in london, as i am at the college school of law obtaining my BVC, i strongly advise that if you reside in the area of london that you apply to mini-pupilages, work experience in a firm of solicitors if in london Shergill & Co offer plently of work experiences! may i stress that working in your local law centre and Citizens advice bureu is very very very benefictal!!!!!!!!!

if you require anymore asisitance here is my e-mail address e-mail me and i'll hopefully help find the answer : jim_bob_returns2@hotmail.com
