Hints for a mature student - duckie - 12/11/2005

Am finding my personal statement really tricky... have read lots of online advice and it all seems to be geared towards school leavers or those relatively close in age with perhaps a year or two out.

I'm wondering how relevant positions of responsibility I held in school are now 10 years on. Its a while ago! Also having trouble trying to condense 10 years important 'stuff' what to leave in, what to discard? LOL from what I read on here its hard enough to do with only a few years to draw on. So much to say... my initial draft was about twice as long as it should have been, um and reading the advice here I seem to have made many glaringly obvious no-nos too...

Any mature applicants able to offer advice- well anyone, really, I'm floundering a bit...

A little bit late and I an no mature.

But my advise is to look at the course that your applying to and see what in the 10 years will help the admission know your be good for that course. And I would concentrate on them.

Good luck
