maths ps

hi guys
this is 1st first draft of my ps and is not finished but i just wanted to see if im on the right track before I go any further. im a little stuck on how to end and i think its too long and so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ever since teaching my friend how to use a simultaneous equation I have been determined to become a teacher. Seeing the spark in her eyes as it “clicked into place” gave me the passion for teaching mathematics. Mathematics intrrigues me as it has such an effect on modern life, effecting everything from kicking a ball to space exploration; and I really enjoy finding examples in real life that use mathematical theory learnt in lessons.
I have always loved maths as a child and this has followed me throughout my school career. I was lucky enough to join an accelerated learning group in high school gaining an A* at GCSE a year early. This gave me the opportunity to study a further mathematics course in year 11, which I enjoyed immensely as the areas I studied had direct relevance to real life situations; it also gave me a taste of A level mathematics. I also tackled the UKMT junior and intermediate challenges, gaining bronze awards. These early challenges gave me the taste for advance mathmatics, and I really enjoyed the problems solving elements.
For me, maths is an endlessly intriguing subject, as the discipline appears limitless, allowing so much scope for further study and research. My particluar interests lie in explaining mathmatical theories and finding rigours proofs. By entering myself for the mathematics AEA, I hope to expand upon the mathematical knowledge I have already learnt, by further developing the skills to apply them to demanding and complex questions. I have also been reading books of a mathmatical nature to try and extend my knowledge. I have particully enjoyed reading “to infinity and beyond” as it deals with the fascinating subject of infinty.    
Outside of college I regularly volunteer for my local church at community tees for the elderly in our community, this is a great opportunity to work in a team and I feel a great sense of achievement after a busy day. Furthermore I volunteer at blood donor sessions, a subject very close to my heart as I receive blood transfusions frequently. Through these experiences I have achieved a balance between my social and educational life and have acquired time management skills that will prove invaluable to me during my degree. During my time at high school I was involved in the Junior Governing Body which involved voicing the views of different groups in the school. This was immensly rewarding as it made a real difference to the students and helped me to expand my leadership skills, to build up my confidence and my sense of responsibility.
