Maths Personal Statement dilema

mathmatics is the proper name, you know the whole "one grammatical or spelling error and its binned" arguement

maths however i think gives the impression i am relaxed and affectionate about the subject

thanks in advance

I ALWAYS use Mathematics (note capitalisation). Although it is generally not considered what you use by less demanding universities, those who are particularly fussy about grammar will notice.

Letting the capital letter slip is hardly worth mentioning, but I'd try to put it in. Always refer to it as 'Mathematics' though and not Maths.

I would need to see your personal statement to give a definitive answer, but I try to sum up my feelings towards doing Maths at university by briefly explaining my motivation for doing it.

This is demonstrated in my personal statement below (under the same username):

If you wish for a more definitive answer, please PM me.
